NEW DELHI: Office of New Delhi district magistrate was sealed on Wednesday after eight persons working in the control room and engaged in quick response under district disaster management authority were found positive for coronavirus. An official said that all officials who used the same building complex as the eight coronavirus positive persons have come in contact with the eight persons would undergo Covid-19 tests. DM, ADM and SDMs several senior officials use the same building complex.
The DM and senior officers are working from home since the office is being sanitized. The authorities have launched a contact mapping exercise to trace the persons who came in contact with the eight Covid-19 positive persons apart from their family members.
The eight persons are civil defense volunteers, who have been involved in multiple Covid-19 management exercise like distribution of masks and relief. they were tested as part of routine screening. All of them have been admitted to YMCA Covid care centre. “All of them are under observation and none of them are serious. The family members and some primary home contacts have been home quarantined,” said an official.
New Delhi DM Tanvi Garg said that even though the office is sealed it has been ensured that the relief and management work continues seamlessly.
